RED10 in partnership with Demelza

We are proud to partner with Demelza in 2018, a children’s hospice providing vital care to children and families.

Demelza is a children’s hospice providing vital care to children and families across Kent, South East London and East Sussex.

When a child is born with or develops a serious medical condition for which there may not be a cure, the whole family is affected – mums, dads, brothers, sisters, and grandparents. Some parents know their baby has a condition that will shorten their life before they are born, other children can be diagnosed in early childhood or in their teenage years. Often no-one can tell them how long their child will live, only that they need constant care. Demelza cares for children with a range of different conditions including irreversible organ failure, muscular dystrophy, epilepsy, brain or spinal cord injury and cancer, some of which are very complex. This means each family situation is unique and many children require individual care and support.

Demelza provides this compassionate and expert care for babies, children and young people and their families when they need it the most – this may be a matter of hours or days or for years as a condition progresses. This is all offered free of charge, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. As a charity, not part of the NHS, Demelza is reliant on generous donations from local individuals, groups and businesses to be able to provide care free of charge to families.
