Junior Project Manager / Implementation Lead – £400pd – 7 Month Initial Contract – Leading Global Insurer

My client a Leading Global Insurer require a Junior Project Manager / Implementation Lead for an initial 7 month contract. The ideal candidate should have a high level understanding of the insurance market ideally coming from the sector.

Key requirements include:
* 5+ years of project management experience in a global organization
* High proficiency in the project management tools
* 2+ years’ experience of financial and resource planning
* Demonstrable experience of planning complex projects, identifying dependencies, risk mitigation and stakeholder management
* An ability to work cross-regionally and regionally
* Certified in project management

Required skills:
* Excellent communications skills at both the project team and management level
* Relevant experience managing projects and project teams within a global matrix environment, respecting different cultures and time zones
* An ability to collaborate effectively across IT teams, our third party strategic partner and vendors
* A willingness to take on tasks that are not strictly a PM’s responsibility in order to get them completed, because project resources are not dedicated
* An ability to challenge SMEs to ensure the best solution is proposed
* Customer focused with a “can do” attitude
* Good knowledge of MS Project, Excel and PowerPoint

Responsibilities will include:
* Working with our internal clients to document requirements
* Bringing together the appropriate teams (Infrastructure, App teams, Information Risk Management etc.) to ensure the Infra requirements are well understood, and dependencies and risks are identified early on
* Taking the design/solution through the relevant approval processes
* Managing the project and team members to ensure on-time completion of activities and that issues are escalated quickly and resolved
* Communicating regularly with the sponsor and stakeholders to manage expectations around deliverables and timelines, provide progress reports and/or escalate as needed
* Taking responsibility for problem analysis and recovery
* Creating and maintaining forecasts, documentation and reporting through Planview
